I am now back in the UK and am available to run courses for you and your colleagues in and around Birmingham. As well as the courses outlined below I can also run bespoke courses on any given topic. Indeed I have already done so at many Australian Schools and I am more than happy to extend this service to Uk teachers. No task is too small! If there's something your team would love to know how to do just ask and I'll show you in a fun and productive environment.
You can also acess free online training through the virtual classroom I have created. Meet over 70 people from all over the world who are trying, as you are, to get to know their software better and create exciting new lesson resources. Beginner
Introduction to Interactive Whiteboards
You have an interactive whiteboard in your classroom or school and you’d love to know how to use it more effectively. This, the first in a series of three workshops, introduces you to the basics of the use of the interactive whiteboard to enhance teaching and learning. In these sessions we will consider when and how an interactive whiteboard can be used effectively, the basics of the software that comes with it and some of the places that you can find resources to enhance its use in your classroom.
Advanced
Thinking outside the notebook
You’ve got the hang of your notebook software and would now like to explore the other features that Smart Board has to offer. In this session we look at how we use the video player and recorder to create multi-media lesson ideas. If you’d love to know how to do exciting things like stop a video or DVD in its tracks, annotate what’s on screen, save it and work with it later on your notebook software then this course is for you!
Thinking outside the flipchart (Activ board- Promethean)
You’ve got the hang of your Activboard software, you’ve learned about some of the advance features it has to offer. Now you want to know how to use the active board to integrate moving image into you lessons. If you’d love to know how to do exciting things like stop a video or DVD in its tracks, annotate what’s on screen, save it and work with it later in Activ. Board then this course is for you!
Intermediate
IWB Tips and Tricks
You can orientate your board and create notebook files or flipcharts with simple text and images, now you want to get more creative but you’re not sure how. This course aims to suggest some ways in which you can make you IWB truly interactive. Trick and Tips aims to show you how you can use Notebook to create exciting and engaging resources for your pupils. We will also take a further look at how we can use “ink mode” / “desktop mode” and integrate more Microsoft packages into our teaching and learning activities.Please specify the type of board/software you are using when requesting program.
