Priory Woods – Switch / Touch Screen ‘Videos’
These are great fun. I use them with classes that need short, sharp tasks and then a reward. To break the lessons up into manageable 10 minute chunks my students sometimes get rewarded with a choice of one of these silly videos. It all helps with behaviour management 
The site’s creators come from the teaching expertise of a special school so these videos are actually intended to help children to understand and generalise cause and effect (the action / reaction bond), one of the foundation stones for early learning. All of the videos can be played on-line or downloaded for use on a PC or Macintosh computer.
They are also links to interactive talking story books and other useful interactive activities.

My favorite tool is the “Random Name Picker” fruit machine. My students never argue over who goes first if the fruit machine chooses them!

This site contains 7 different ‘big book’ stories which can be displayed on your IWB. Each one has a different Early Years learning focus. These focus include:
- animals that live in Costa Rica
- names of animals that live in the Australian tropical rain forest
- common initial sound or phoneme in each sentence. Sounds featured include s,c,m,t,b,h and g.
- simple counting (with interactive roll over buttons)
- introducing children to CVC’s words
- who eats who in the lake!
- signs of spring
- autumnal changes
- the life cycle of swans.
