This is one of a few very easy to use, free screen recording programs around.  This service doesn’t require you to download any software (handy if your school network won’t allow you to install) and gives you simple code that you can then embed into your E-learning environment.

Oh.. and it’s well worth checking out their growing video library too!  Might even save you making your video to start with

By the same company who created “snag it”, Jing is a free to use screen recording software. It will allow you to screen scrab parts of your screen and past them into documents (Binrg up your e-textbook,  take a snap shot, place it into your worksheet, email it to absent pupils etc.) Hosted by Screencast, as you take pictures and create videos you will then develop a library of videos that you can share with your students or embed into your e-learning pages. Once your collection is developed you can then organise your files into media rolls.  These become like playlists that your students can access – an easy way of placing lots of homemade materials in one location.

This is a free, online E-learning environment which is hosted on brainhoney’s site. You won’t need to have servers or any internet expertise to create a basic and useful e-learning classroom. It’s not quite as powerful as the big boys (Moodle , Sharepoint etc) but it’s a good place to start and its FREE!

This is a free, online grade book with lots of useful features that could be adapted to suit all sorts of assessment types. It even allows parents and students to log in and keep and eye on their graded assignements.  A very handy tool!
