I just wanted to say thank you for your presentation today. Everyone was very impressed and are all ‘buzzing’ about what they can do. It was great to look at the apps and really think about how we could use these in the classroom.

In a time where ICTs and languages education go hand in hand, teachers from Catholic Education SA were lucky enough to have attended a 2 day course presented by you last year. Technologies aren’t necessarily a new item in the languages classroom but what teachers are wanting now is HOW to use those technologies to better deliver an engaging and contemporary program and HOW to integrate the usage of iPads, IWBs, wikispaces, etc in the planning stages of their programs. There was so much to learn and absorb in those two days that I think some of us may come back this year for another wonderful learning experience. Thank you and I look forward to those sessions in 2012.

Selena, thank you so much for an instructional, informative and fun interactive whiteboard training session yesterday. It can be daunting adopting the use of these technologies for the classroom – there is much to learn – but your patience, care and skill in teaching my colleague and me was greatly appreciated. The pace of the session was perfectly geared to our abilities and your preparation, both in the session you planned and the notes you provided, helped our session to flow at a good pace. We very much appreciated it being a “hands-on” session as there is so much to take onboard. We have just done the training session with Selena – it was superb! Most of the teachers had never seen an IWB before. Now they all want one! As I told you earlier, they were only expecting to stay for an hour but many stayed well into the second hour as they were so engaged. That’s a real tribute to Selena’s energy, enthusiasm and knowledge of the IWB given the fact that we are in the middle of report writing…I’d like to book Selena again to train some more teachers when our other IWBs are installed. I’ll be in touch.
…Your legacy was apparent a few weeks ago – had a meet up for the next group of interested parties with the champions you triained. They arranged everything and did a brilliant job of introducing the boards… We’re now into a mentoring program with each of the champs having 1~3 newbies, so your stone in the pond is gradually having a significant impact on our teaching and learning. And now Science are demanding more boards!
